BBQ Delicious & Fried Fish Fantastic!

Looks are deceiving. The catfish is melt in your mouth delicious. The portions are huge.

Hooten Hollern BBQ has some of the best fried fish around, it is remarkably crispy. They have really good BBQ as well and have that small town welcoming atmosphere.

The ribs were outstanding and the BBQ sauce had enough kick to it but not too much. I give the ribs a 8 to 9 out of 10 and the brisket a 7 to 8. The BBQ sauce a solid 9. Worth a trip? Hmmm, mebbie for the ribs but the brisket could have used some more flavor. Good value for your money as well with prices that are reasonable. Highly recommended you stop and eat here!

Really didnt care for the food. The lady taking our order kept texting on her phone when we asked her what did she like the best off the menu. Terrible customer service. Will not go back

So we were going to this place for my birthday my aunt was talking about house so good it is but when we went there all we got is feed rudely and disrespectful and we're City people we don't put up with that stuff we thought country people were nice and thoughtful of what the other people thought but they weren't they didn't even care what we said or what we thought about there are food or anything else like that we ordered to James and then the lady said you only ordered one when we're at the table and so she gave my aunt's another one and she said that'll be a dollar and my aunt said I don't want that and that's all I can say is that this place is rude and disrespectful I like it better when there were more respectful and nice people and being time for everybody

It's a shame at this time of a pandamic and our Governor and Health Dept has said Wear Masks and my husband picks up a to go order and NO worker has a mask on. We will not go to this business again. They have no respect to customers & to their country

Stopped in to pick up lunch. Not one of the workers had on mask! One worker coughed in her shirt then picked up a new set of gloves. Will not be going back , it was one of our favorite places

The sliced beef is insanely tender. Getting hungry just thinking about it.

I celebrated my nomination yesterday in this fine place. I am glad to say that we had a pleasant evening and the place was unquestionably one of the reasons for the successful celebration. The waiters collaborated in a sweet style, the meals were great and my guests were extremely overjoyed. We shall surely visit again for more events. thanks very much.

BBQ had a bitter smoke taste.

Sliced and chopped brisket were tasty, albeit a bit dry. Slightly more smoked than we like. The BBQ sauce was exceptionally good, we thought -- sweet without being too sweet, and an nice kick to it without burning too much. Saved the brisket, for sure. Beans and slaw were delicious. We'll go back if we're back in the area.

It's a particular and traditional place of Texan food. The presentation is rustic. But the food is great.

It's the always been said don't eat fish at a bbq place... This was our first visit... the fish plate was perfect and I loved the homemade sides. You can't beat their tarter sauce. I'll definitely go back.

We placed our orders with no one in the place. When we sat down three people came in they placed their order. I got my dinner, husband did not. So I sat there waiting for him to receive his dinner. When a couple boys came out with the other people's first. ( He only ordered a chopped beef sandwich??Each one of them has a full dinner plates. At this point... I'm upset and still waiting??? Not one person working in the kitchen said sorry.It will be awhile before I come back!Guess that's what ya get when you hire all kids... to too bad this was my favorite place to eat in whitney

Really, really good! Quaint, "hole in the wall" kind of place. Locals keep it busy with small dine in area and lots of take out orders.

Great service! Jalapeño cheese sausage was excellent, turkey was good. Ribs were meaty and had great flavor but could have been more tender. Brisket needed more smoke. Pinto beans were forgettable. Corn and mac and cheese should not be missed!

My family and I ate here after a fishing trip. The food was great and the people were amazing. They worked hard and were fun to talk to. Highly recommend trying them out.

Great place to eat. Causal. Price is very good. Friday nights all you can eat catfish. Very reasonable. This is real catfish not imitation fish. Which I do not eat. It is putting the American catfish farmers out of business. And it taste different.
